Poppit - 2009 Drum Filly
Horse Feathers Poppit is wonderfully built filly out of Laureli and by Aislan. From the moment I saw her, I knew she needed to be added to our merry band of Drum mares. On November 16th 2009, Poppit had an accident in the field and broke her long pastern bone (P1). After two surgeries by Dr. Cliff Honnas of the Texas Equine Hospital, Poppit is 100% sound. I love how this filly moves, how expressive she is, her conformation and her personality. I can't wait until she is all grown up! ADHA Registered.

Cybil - Shire Mare - retired

So what exactly are Drum horses? First, it is really a job description. These colourful horses were bred for use in the Queen's calvary and carried the big kettle drums. American Drum horses are a cross between Clydesdale or Shire and Gypsy horses. They must have at least 1/8 gyspy blood in them to be a true Drum horse and be at least 16hh. Good, registered foundation Shires and Clydesdales are a must for any Drum program. Add a Gypsy to the mix and you get a fantastic versatile and athletic horse with an amazing temperment. No other breed can be used to create Drum horses. Our goal is to phase out our Foundation mares and only breed true Drum mares to true Drum stallions.
Whimsey - 2010 Drum Filly
Laureli and Aislan gave us yet another fantastic drum filly - Whimsey. She will be our final addition to our drum program. I'll have to tell myself that when Laureli has her next foal with Aislan. She is just a phenominal producer and I have a hard time letting go of her babies.
Whimsey, like her full sister Poppit, is stout, big, fantastic moving, inqisitive, hairy and colourful. ADHA registered.
Drafty Meadows Cybil is a beautiful Shire mare that I saw when I purchased Onora. She wasn't for sale at the time, but her owner decided several months later to let her come to us.
Cybil had a hard time with her last colt, Fiyero and we made the tough but right decision to reitre lovely Cybil back with her original owner, Heidi of Warhorse Farms. I think Heidi never really wanted to part with her favourite mare and I was happy to make sure that Cyb would be comfortable in her retirement. I will miss her dearly.
Tablerock Belleau Lorial - aka "Laureli". She was a twin at birth, so is very small, only 15hh. Don't let her small size fool you! This mare has lots of height in her genes and always produced very large foals. Her dam stood over 17h. Laureli is one of those gem finds. She has lots of good feathering and wonderful movement and she passes all that onto her foals. She is a consistent producer.

Tessa - 2006 Drum Mare
Horse Feathers Tessa was our first drum filly out of our Clydesdale mare Laureli and by Galway Warrior. She currently stands 17hh. Laureli might be small, but she throws big! We had sold Tessa as a yearling, but always regretted letting go such a lovely filly. After much discussion (aka, begging) we were able to purchase her back and add her to our herd. She is a true Drum Horse in breeding, size and temperment. We couldn't have bred a better filly. ADHA Registered.
News: Tessa had major colic surgery in July, 2011. We've decided to only use embryo transfer with her as I just can't bear the thought of complications in pregnancy and foaling.

Carmen - Shire Mare
Abbeyfeale Carmen is a super nice Shire mare that we are leasing from Staci Wimsett of Settler's Run Sporthorses.
She stands 16.3hh and is a great representatin of the old style shire, much like Cybil is. We've bred her to Arthur for a 2012 Drum foal. The anticipation is terrible!
